We had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great dinner with my parents on Christmas Eve then came back home and celebrated our own little Christmas. I must say it's so much more fun being a parent and watching your kids on Christmas morning. Santa was more then good to all of us this year.

Lexie is now 18 months and is a happy energetic girl. She keeps herself entertained with about anything she gets a hold of. She enjoys pointing out things on your face. She likes making faces. She loves to climb. The kitchen table is her favorite. She loves food anything and everything. She is really good at letting us know when she has gone potty in her diaper. She loves being outside. She loves it when her dad comes home. She loves to make messes. She likes to copy her brother. She enjoys books. She loves babies. She loves taking baths. She loves to dance. She loves men, but when it comes to women forget it she will shy away.She likes to help me clean.
We love all the new milestones she is going through. She has so many new things we could keep going on. We love this little sweetheart. Happy 1 1/2 year love you!!

Service Project

'Twas a fun festive weekend at our annual Gerber Christmas Party. We celebrated by making our traditional Fasnoch's which is a dessert from Switzerland. Then, we did a service project putting together trucks for deserving kids. We also went to my grandpa's grave site. Later, we came back and listened to a recording of grandpa telling how he grew up. It was our first Christmas party without him. He has left behind an amazing legacy. We then exchanged white elephant gifts.

On, Saturday we took our family to the USU Football Game. Carter, was a true fan cheering along with the crowd. We enjoyed some good food, awesome weather, and a win against New Mexico. Go Aggies!

We had along fun weekend with JoDee's brother and his family. We celebrated by collecting candy at the mall, carving pumpkins, and going around the neighborhood until the rain spoiled our trick or treating. In the short time they were out they collected more candy then needed.

Last night, we attended our ward carnival. JoDee and the kids met up with me the last half so I could help with the Relief Society candy walk. It was fun for the kids. Carter's favorite part was the blow-up bounce house. We enjoyed all the activities and all the candy and donuts that went with it.

I have always loved Halloween. I love dressing up and of course the best part is all the sweet treats. So this year we decided to do another Taylor Halloween Party. We had a day full of activities. We first had family pictures, then came back to my parents house and decorated cupcakes and had lunch. After that, we had our video scavenger hunt, girls against boys, and the girls won! Then after that we got all bundled up and headed to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk.

Last night for family home evening we went to the Corn Maze with some friends. The kids enjoyed running around and telling us which way to go. Then when we were finished we went to Cansas's home, where we had hot chocolate, and donuts by the fire.

Carter's preschool class went on a field trip to the fire department today. From the moment we arrived the kids were so interested, due in no small part to the theatrics of their guide. Carter was chosen as the superstar of the class. He was the fireman's right hand man. They were able to see the fire trucks and the ambulance. It was a great experience for all of us.

We have recently started Carter in indoor soccer. He has really enjoyed playing. Although, he gets distracted having other friends on the team.

They don't have practices but they do a few skills before the game and then it's craziness all over the field. You have half that walk around on the other end of the field and the other half that chase the ball. It's great entertainment.

Today was Carter's 4th Birthday. We had everything spider man. We celebrated by going to dinner with the grandparents and then had cake and ice cream. Carter kept saying, "this is the best birthday. Thanks, Mom (with a big hug)." It was a great day. We Love you Carter!

State Fair

Yesterday, we attended the Utah State Fair. The first thing we did when we entered was headed to the pig races then off to the farm animals. Along the way we ran into the bee who wanted to throw Carter like a football.

Then we ran into the RoboMan who was 10ft tall. As you can see on the looks of Carter's face he wasn't sure about it.

Next, we headed to the Little Farms where the kids learned how farming works. Along the way they gathered fruit, vegetables, learned how to milk a cow, plant a seed, and ride a little tractor. In the end you would give your things back and they were given a dollar to go pick something out at the store.

Carter started preschool yesterday. He has been so anxious and ready to start school. Even though I have been waiting and knowing this day was coming, I am not sure I am ready to send him off. It was hard to say goodbye. I cried all the way home. I know it's a good experience and it's part of growing up. I am just having a hard time because I have always been there and I know what he is doing. Now, I just have to trust other people and hope that he will make the right choices.
As we were leaving Carter said, "Mom, I love you so,so,so,so,so,so much!" It just melted my heart. He then said, "Mom, I want to give you a kiss, and a hug." What a sweet boy. I then watched him as he walked up to school. He looked so grown up. That's when I lost it. It felt like a piece of me was missing. I know he will do great. Good luck with your new adventure I know you will have a great experience.

We took a drive up Green Canyon with the kids to enjoy the beauty of nature and the fresh air. We pulled off the side of the road and hiked around a few of the trails. Carter just loved hiking and would have kept going all day if he could. We didn't go to far considering we had to carry Lexie.

Today, June 15th, is our 8 year Wedding Anniversary. It has been an amazing 8 years. We have had our struggles, our highs and lows, we have laughed, we have cried, we have danced, we have played, we have worked, we have moved, we have celebrated having two wonderful kids, we have taken risks, we have traveled, we have had fun, we have loved, and most of all we have been blessed.

We started out our morning on a rough start. Carter was acting up and so I sent him to time out for 3 minutes. I came back in to ask him what he had done wrong and why he was sent to time out.

Me: "Carter, why were you sent to time out?"

We started Carter in his first swimming class yesterday. He really enjoys being in the water, as long as he can stay on the stairs. But towards the end of class she took the kids down to the deep end where she had them sit on the ledge. Carter was kicking his feet in the water and slipped in. One of my worst fears. The instructor had her back turned and didn't see him fall in. I was so scared. There was nothing I could do. I got up as fast as I could going towards him. At that time she saw him flopping around and put him right back on the ledge. I was scared he wasn't going to want to swim again. Thankfully he was fine and wants to go back.

Brain Fart

So I have a confession, I've got Mommy Brain.

This is what I call checking out my brains after having kids. For one my mind is crammed full with feeling sleep deprived, bottles, diapers, housework, etc. I am saying things I said I would never say such as: Counting to 3 as if that is going to help the situation, or "Quit yelling you'll wake-up the baby" (as I am the one yelling), and "Just wait tell your daddy comes home."

So I thought I would share a few of my confessions with you, and please feel free to share some of yours as well.

I have days where I feel incredibly lazy and just can't seem to snap out of it. I spend the day in my P.j.s and the kids run ragged and the house is turned upside down. By the end of the day I am feeling awful and need a big kick in the butt.

I often have a load of laundry in the dryer and have forgotten about it and when I go to take it out, it is all wrinkled. So I just put it through the spin sickle and let the wrinkles work themselves out again.

So the last one on my list is by far one I hate to admit just because I know it's wrong in the first place. So here it goes a few weeks ago I had been running around all day and I just had to pick up one item at the dollar store. In and out. The kids were both sleeping (and they need their sleep) so I left the car on (with a guilty consciences as I left them). I ran in got what I needed went to the register and a women comes in and says, "someone has left there kids in the car" as I am grabbing my bag not saying a thing and walk quickly to the car. The lady came up to me and said, "don't you ever do that again or I will call the cops next time." As my heart is pumping in the first place knowing it was wrong. So to go with out say it is the first and last time I do that. Always go with that feeling even though nothing happened.

So there you have it a few of my mommy confessions.

When it snows here in Logan it doesn't take much for the locals to go out and have themselves a good time. One of our favorite spots is Old Main the big hill on campus. So we bundled up, and headed for the hill.

Jesus Wants Me For A Sun Beam

Carter is now a sun beam. We have been preparing him to go to Primary with the big kids for the past few weeks. He has been so excited to finally go to sun beams.
The first few weeks they would bring the nursery kids in during singing time so it would help them transition a little better. Well, they told the kids to sit quietly in their chairs and not stand up. Come to find out Carter stayed in his chair but decided to take his chair with him while he moved. Smart I must say. Always, thinking of ways to get around things.

Now if we can just work on saying his prayers. He says the same thing every night. "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, thank you for Carter, Mommy, Daddy, and baby Lexie. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen! We're working on it.

Christmas

Christmas Eve we got together in the late afternoon and watched a few family video's. Then later that evening we had my grandma and grandpa Taylor come over for dinner and games. Christmas morning we spent it at my parents house with my two brothers and their families. We got up around 8:30am to open presents but the funny thing was my brothers and I were all up earlier waiting for each other to wake up. Santa found us and spoiled us all. Christmas was wonderful. The spirit of Christmas is getting better when it's with kids.

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Idaho Falls with JoDee's family. We drove down Wednesday afternoon and stayed till Friday.

We spent Thursday over eating, playing games, talking, laughing, over eating, playing the Wii, and over eating.

Friday we switched it up and spent the morning Christmas shopping. JoDee went out earlier than I did to hit up all the killer deals. But unfortunately, he wasn't aggressive enough to get the main gift we were going for. That's all okay it was all in good fun.

Saturday we came home and spent the day decorating the house. We listened to Christmas music, and watched a Christmas music.

We love this time of year and we are truley blessed with so much.

Growing up

Today I took Carter to the park to play. As I watched his child like glee as he was running up and down the playground laughing and giggling. I could tell he was having the time of his life.

Every couple of minutes he would yell out "This is awesome! Did you see that!" I can't believe my baby has grown to be so big. It seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms as an infant. Now he is running around and talking and has his own opinions.

I love hearing him talk and hear the things he comes up with. Such as when he gets mad and says, "Mom you makes my so mad." Or when he plays peek-a-boo with Lexie he says, "Peeky-boob" and when he melts my heart when he tells me he loves me.

He is like a sponge soaking everything up, and it amazes me what he understands. I love watching him grow and experience new things.

We recently went to Paradise Valley to go pumpkin picking. We searched for the patch but all we could find was a field full of pumpkins and an apple orchard. So we found the best pumpkins in the field and went on our way. But come to find out the pumpkin patch was across the street through the apple orchard. Needless, to say we had a great time going from pumpkin to pumpkin finding the best one.

I few days ago Carter and I went to the craft store and I let him pick out something to paint. Here is his spooky pumpkin as he calls it.

We had Lexie's baby blessing yesterday. It was a beautiful day. JoDee's words were so sincere and tender. You could just feel the love he has for her in the tone of his voice. He said such wonderful things. The spirit was very strong. We are so blessed that he holds the priesthood.

A Day with Daddy

JoDee took Carter on his first fishing trip last week. No fish were caught, but it was time well spent. Although, JoDee doesn't especially care for fishing it is something they can share together.

Off to the lake they went, and Carter proudly held his 3ft long rod. They found a spot where some fish were swimming amongst the rocks and weeds, so the hope was they would catch a fish.

Carter enjoyed spending the time fishing but I think he is still a little to young. After awhile he thought it was more fun throwing rocks in the water. Oh, well there is always next time.

- The Arrival -

I had my doctor's appointment on Thursday June 18th and because everything was progressing well the doctor said she would put me on the waiting list to be induced. I was told I would be getting a call anytime that day or the next. Well, I had got the call at 3:00 pm - I was surprised not to say it had woke me up from a nap. I was told to be there by 4:00pm. So I called JoDee up and said "it's time!" I thankfully had my sister Lindsay there already to take care of Carter. We arrived and got all settled in. They checked me and I had already dilated to a 3+ on my own. I was put on potocin and just waited for things to happen. About 6:00pm, she came and broke my water. Within five hours it was time to push. It took about 20 minutes for her to deliver. She arrived at 11:10pm. She weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 20in long.

I feel so blessed, I have found so much joy in being a mother. My family has brought me more happiness then I could imagine. I am overwhelmed with the gratitude and love that I have for this little girl.

Today is our 7 year wedding anniversary. It's been 7 years full of great memories, tender moments, tears, laughs, life changes, fights, hugs, great conversations, and love.

Fun Facts About Being Prego

- I am down to 2 weeks

- I love feeling the baby grow and move inside of me

- I am a clean freak, but as of right now you would have know idea. This baby takes all the energy I have just to do the small stuff

- I am constantly craving sweets, but I don't think that has anything to do with being pregnant it is something I am always craving

- I seem to have lost my sense in remembering things, spelling, writing, and math. So I am pretty much down to a few brain cells which the baby will probably take what's left...sadly, because that's not much

- I take advantage of taking naps when Carter goes down

- I have become best friend with the toilet. To say the least I go any where from 3 to 7 times a night

- I have had terrible acid reflex and heart burn

- My feet swell up like balloons

- I have know complaints about being sick

After, all of those fun facts I really enjoy being pregnant. I love feeling that special bond to this little spirit. I can't wait to have a newborn to hold and cuddle again. I can't wait to see Carter with his new little sister and what a big helper he will be. I am excited to have a new addition to our family.

Baby Shower

Hooray for babies - and hooray for girl babies! My friends Cherie, Cansas, and I are all having little girls. So our good friends in the neighborhood were so kind to throw us a baby shower all together. We had a great evening starting with dinner at the Olive Garden. Then we went back to Aprile's house and played games, opened gifts, and had so amazing cake that Alisha had made. Thanks to all of you who put this together it really means a lot.

This time of year always reminds me of graduation. Well, I realized I forgot to post about JoDee graduating last November. Although, it's been along time in waiting but the day has come that JoDee has finished his MBA in Accounting. He graduated from ISU with a bachelors in Finance. I couldn't be more proud. Graduating is a day to mark a tremendous accomplishment. I would just like to congratulate you on a job well done. I want to encourage you to follow your dreams and what the bright future has in store for you.

My apologies to those who check here often. It seems like life has just been crazy and the last thing on my mind is blogging. So for an update with us... My pregnancy has been progressively nice! I have nothing to complain about. Other then I have 6 weeks left and I am more then ready to meet this little angel. For even better news all of my siblings are expecting as well. My oldest brother is expecting theirs in August, Landon's is in October, and Lindsay's is in December. So within a year there will be 4 new additions to our family. We are all doing well and we couldn't be happier!!

Baby Animal Days

One of the most popular events in Logan is a festival called "Baby Animal Days." They celebrate the coming of spring and the baby animals both small, and tall.
Throughout the farm they have crafts, petting the baby animals, history demonstrations, wagon rides, and more.

Easter Primary Activity

This past week our Primary had an Easter Activity for the kids in our ward. Carter was so excited because this was his first Primary Activity. He did such a good job and participated in all the activities. I just have to say that our Primary Presidency is amazing they work so hard with our kids and do such a great job with them.

Last night Carter and I set up camp in the basement. We stayed up late and watched "Shrek" and told stories. This was the best way to sleep out and not have to worry about the bugs or the cold.

Last, Wednesday we took a little get away with my family to St. George and Vegas. We couldn't have asked for better weather it was in the 70's most of the time. We just spent the time relaxing, swimming, playing tennis, and enjoying the time off.

ROCK BAND!!

Okay, so I just have to say I have found my new calling in life...that is to be a drummer. That's right I said it a drummer, I may just be the worst one out there but I liked it. So on Friday night my friend had a bunch of girls over to play Rock Band. I thought we rocked it but some might say we'd be the band that... "You don't have to like em', but you gotta respect them." Because after all at the end of the day we are Rock Stars!

I have really been searching for a crib quilt and I just can't seem to come across one that I love. If I do they are way out of my price range. So I decided to make my own. I have very little experience in this area but I found it to be very enjoyable. I think I may have just found a new hobby.

Just in update I am 23 weeks and I am already feeling very hefty. I feel with this one I just popped out like a balloon over night. Things are going very well. She has been moving all over like a little jitter bug!

Drum Roll Please...

We are having a little GIRL!! JoDee and I are so thrilled! I can't tell you how excited I am to be having a little girl. Yesterday, we went in for our ultrasound, the most exciting day! The doctor was showing us everything about the baby and the anatomy of her little body. Everything is looking amazing she is healthy and strong.

We decided to take Carter with us even though he doesn't understand what's going on. He was so cute when I had to lay down and the doctor was doing the ultrasound Carter came over and held my hand. Oh, what a sweetheart he is, I started to tear up what a little gentleman. Well, were at the half way mark yee haw!!!

BIG Boy Bed

Okay, its official Carter has moved to a big boy bed, and I am here to tell you it's been a resounding success so far! We started a few weeks ago and let me tell you how hard it was for me the first night...
I was watching my little boy lie in his new bed and it was strangely emotional experience. He looks so tiny, so trusting in that big vast space. I worried about the first night in his twin bed, envisioned multiple escapes and the patter of little feet running into my bedroom. I worried that this might impact and worry him and cause him not to sleep. And I was amazed the first night after reading him a story and saying our prayers he rolled over and said, "night, night, love you." I walked out waiting and listening at his door but I heard nothing. He was asleep within a few minutes. Although, this was not an easy night for me I was waking up every hour wondering if he might need me. I felt as if he were at a sleepover and I wasn't there to help him. JoDee kept saying, he is just across the hall in a new room it's ok, get a grip." Easy for him to say. The next morning came and he was still in his bed. I was so impressed. Needless, to say it hasn't been that way the last few nights.

Aggies vs Boise State

Last Saturday we took Carter to the Aggies vs Boise State basketball game. He absolutly loved the game. He would throw his hand in the air and say "YES" and "Whoosh" when they made a shot; that went for both teams of course. It was a sold out game. Aggies came out of the game with a win: 79 to 65.

New Years at the Cabin

We had a great Christmas at my parents house. And again, I wish I had taken more pictures. I guess I was enjoying the moment. Carter was such a hit he would have to have every piece of paper off before he would look at his gifts. Then when he saw them it was like the best thing he had ever seen...throwing his arm in the air saying yes, or wow. It was hilarious! Then when it came to clothes or shoes he would say oh, that's cute and move as quick as he could to the next gift. Santa defiantly found us and I can't believe it has come and gone.

Hardware Ranch

We took a trip the weekend before Christmas to Hardware Ranch. It's a Ranch that has been feeding elk year round for many years. The wild elk have learned to migrate to the Ranch for food during the winter months. Its a great sleigh ride around the elk where they had around 250 that day.

Well we tried to keep it a secret as long as we could, but to be honest, we've been dying to tell you about the bun in the oven. We will be expecting number 2, June 24. JoDee and I have been so thrilled and we feel so blessed to have had this baby come so easy. I am excited and grateful to be having another baby. I am 12 weeks and can't complain of much sickness just a little fatigued. I have been aching to hold a new born in my arms again. Last, Tuesday we went into see little baby Stoddard for the first time. There is nothing like that first time just knowing there is a little one inside of you. Your emotion's are sky high and couldn't be happier for number 2 to come our way. The doctor said everything looks great and the baby is developing beautifully. We were just in awe looking at the little one moving all over. We were both teary eyed and so excited.

Sugar Cookies

Sugar cookies are near the top of my favorite cookies. Decorating them are even better! We had my family over to do our traditional sugar cookie decorating. With all the fun candies and sprinkles you can't go wrong.
